WLYSA recognizes that our volunteers are the backbone of our programs and association. We highly appreciate each volunteer and are committed to providing our coaches and co-coaches with support to ensure everyone has a positive experience for each season.
Are you interested in being a coach for the Spring Season?
WLYSA coaches are offered a variety of programs and supports through WLYSA. WLYSA follows all BC Soccer and Canada Soccer guidelines to promote coach development and player development within our association.

Have a question at any time during your volunteer experience? Ask us! Alexis or the mini and senior co-ordinators are ready to help you with anything that would make your volunteer experience more positive.
Step 1: January - March: Indicate on your child's Spring Season Registration that you would like to volunteer coach your child's team. Or contact Alexis (admin@wlysa.com) with information about the age group you would like to volunteer for.
Step 2: Complete a Criminal Record Check online using the WLYSA Link and code.
Step 3: January - Beginning of April: Complete the online portion of the Canada Soccer Grassroots Coach Education Programs. WLYSA will provide any coach interested in completing the Coaching Courses with a prepaid keycode. Coaches are highly encouraged to participate in the programs to learn the basics.
Step 4: April __, 2024 Attend the WLYSA Spring Soccerfest to complete on-field requirements of the Canada Soccer Coaching Courses. Coaches are still welcome to attend and learn more basics of soccer, and player management if you were unable to complete the online program.
Step 5: Soccerfest weekend - Attend the Coach's meeting, pick-up ballbag and binder.
Step 6: Enjoy the season! Ask questions when you need help, or clarification and provide us with feedback to make the season more positive for everyone involved!
