Player Assessment Form

Rep Development – what is it?

Rep Development is an introduction to soccer at a higher competitive level than recreational or house soccer for our 11 and 12 year old players (2006/2005 birth years). Players are introduced to advanced skill development techniques, more frequent practices, proper rest ,and nutritional requirements as they prepare for playing soccer at a competitive level. There are no player releases (cuts) at this level, but there is a greater player commitment required with at least one extra practice per week in addition to House practice and games. Parents of players on Rep Development teams should expect out of town travel to games and tournaments and know that the season is longer than our conventional two and a half month house season and can run through to September with a short break during the summer months.

Rep Development players are also required to register and play House league soccer.

Future Stars – what is it?

WLYSA Future Star’s development program is for the U9 to U10 player (born 2007/2008).  It is designed for kids who want more field time.

The inclusive program will allow our players to advance their performance. It is not only for players who display ability but for every player who has a willingness and desire to improve. The focus will still be on fun as well as developing life-long athletes who are passionate about soccer. Practices will be run by a coaching team and will be mainly co-ed.  Players will be grouped by ability to allow for success of every player at every level. Registration includes a full training kit (jersey, shorts, and socks), 12 weeks of extra training, and possibly some games.

Future Stars players are also required to register and play House league soccer.
