Field and Recreation Facility Assistant
Student Position: Full-Time Temporary
$15/hour
Williams Lake Youth Soccer Association (WLYSA) is hiring a full-time temporary student Field and Recreation Facility Assistant for the period May through August 2012.
This position reports to the Williams Lake Soccer Field Committee and is responsible for field and recreation facility maintenance to support local sports and provide a quality, safe playing environment. The Facility Assistant will provide input on setting facility maintenance and landscaping priorities, and will assist in the assessment of the health of the playing fields. The Facility Assistant will be required to resolve work-related problems and prepare and submit progress reports, requisition supplies and materials, and maintain a petty cash fund and financial records related to such. Tasks will include fertilizing, mowing, weeding, seeding, irrigation monitoring, line painting, purchasing supplies, inventory control, and facility maintenance.
Students pursuing a career in horticulture, agriculture, landscaping, recreation management, or facility maintenance/management will benefit from the Facility Assistant position.
To be considered for this position applicants must be enrolled in full-time attendance at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies in the Fall. Preference will be given to qualified applicants of aboriginal descent.
